Getting Started
1
Select a dream to fulfill. Whether the wish be, fulfillment always starts with the intentional identification of one single goal and the heartfelt conviction to accomplish it. Take some time. Pick one. And then, create a user account at wishbowl.org and submit your wish.
2
Set a deadline. Deadlines force our hand and call us to action. Therefore, it is absolutely essential to pick a realistic timeline and get moving. Buy a home in the next 3 years; Fix your marriage in the next year; Lose 20 pounds in the next 6 months; Or start a blog in the next 30 days. Enter your target date within which you would like to fulfill your wish.
3
Start planning the steps that you need to take in order to achieve what you want to achieve. Enter To Do task with start date for each activity that you would like to undertake. When the task is completed, mark it as done. Determine what you need to do to have that wish come true. For example:

Believe it is achievable. Optimism is absolutely required for dream fulfillment and life enjoyment. Look for resources like articles, videos, quotes, etc on this site that will help you motivate as you move along the way. Think which people you need to help, or what knowledge, skill or capability you need to have, in order to achieve your dream.
5
Break down big tasks into small:
Running a marathon starts with running one mile.
Writing a book starts with deciding on a subject.
Clearing your home of clutter starts with cleaning one drawer, closet, or room.
Losing 20 pounds starts with changing one meal.
Buying a home starts with saving one dollar.
6
Stay focused. By nature, dreams will require perseverance. There will be successes and failures along the way. Those who persevere through the failures will accomplish their dreams.
7
Review your Wish every day. Remember that this is a journey, and your map might turn out to be slightly inaccurate at some junctures. Be ready and willing to change the necessary steps in order to finally reach your destination. Do this every day.
8
Bless the Wish Bowl as often as possible. As you bless the Wish bowl with the affirmation: May all our wishes come true, you not only bless your wish but the wish made by other wish bowl users and vice-versa.
Here are some additional things to consider when you set your goals.
You should have SMART goals, where SMART is an acronym for:

S = Specific
M = Measurable
A = Attainable
R = Realistic
T = Timely
Specific
Your goals should be specific. Don't put down things like "a nice house" - that's not specific at all. Make it as specific as "a wood cabin on the west coast of Scotland, overlooking the sea towards Ireland". That's getting there, but you can add more detail like the color of the roof, how many rooms, etc.

The thing is - it must be exciting enough to get your enthusiasm flowing. But "specific" is not only about the "what", it is also about the "why", so you can also include "why" you want to achieve this goal.
Measurable
The saying goes, "If you can't measure it, you can't manage it". And for your goals it means if you can't measure progress towards it you'll never know whether you're on target. So make sure you specify "when" you want to achieve the goal, as well as the steps in between.
Attainable
Although this is an important point, you must beware of the trap lurking beneath the word "attainable". You could easily think that a goal is too huge, and then discard it. This is not something you should do. If your goal is HUGE, then simply break it down into manageable steps that each is attainable.
Realistic
Wish wisely, dont wish something that is unattainable. Don't wish for unrealistic things; you will be disappointed and you know better than to wish for the moon. Keep it achievable and within the realms of human reality.
Timely
Set timeframes for your goals - next week, next month, next year, etc. Make those timeframes realistic and measurable as well. There's no sense in putting down something like "as soon as possible" because that leaves the door wide open for excuses.

Centuries ago Aristotle said, We are what we repeatedly do and he concluded that, given this fact, excellence is not an act but a habit.

Excellence, is not something that will some day materialize, miraculously, out of thin air. It will be due to you having formed the HABIT of daily reviewing your goal as well as the direction that you are going in, and making the necessary adjustments in order to stay on target.
DONT LEAVE YOUR FUTURE TO CHANCE!!
